XYNETIQ designs and develops advanced sensors for a wide range of applications, including specialist sensor technologies - E-Nose (Electronic Nose). NQR (Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance), Magnetic field, Optical (NIR, UV, VIS), RF, and other technologies for quantum physics research and field applications, with superior sensitivity and capabilities unmatched by other sensors.  

 

Our advanced designs use both embedded small processors for machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), employed to enable "Edge AI" and "TinyML", running intelligent algorithms directly on devices rather than in the cloud, thus saving time and data load.  This can be minimal for sensor efficiency, enabling further post-data processing on a PC or user device running faster processors, where energy is more widely available.  Most of our sensors are designed for very low power and battery operation with LoRa-based mesh networking for remote sensors, where local sensor sites can be directly wired

 

Intelligent Sensors with ML & AI

 

Sensor design technologies used in some of our sensors incorporate nanotechnology elements, hybrid ceramic substrates, SoC, and ML63Q2537/ML63Q2557, both 32-bit Arm Cortex-M0+ CPUs with an AxlCORE-ODL AI accelerator, for low-power, real-time sensing solutions, with other types used according to the application.  Only the most recent developments are applied to our sensors, to ensure longevity and high efficiency for the best green ultra-low carbon footprint and recycling at the end of life.  Materials are a major design consideration for both application, function, and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).  Whatever your application needs, we are certain to have a ready-made solution, and if not, we offer a cost-effective customisation route to your exact specification, with a reserved firmware area in CPLD where it runs your code. If the customisable route doesn't fit, we offer a full custom design, based on a specific sensor design for your requirements, including physical shape and dimensions, functionality, communications interface (wireless or wired, & protocol), and power options.  A full custom option utilises the sensor technology-specific firmware algorithms, retaining a cost-effective solution.
